Android 4.4.3 KitKat for Galaxy Note GT-N7000 now available via Omni ROM

Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (the first ever device in the Note series) can have Android KitKat and that too 4.4.3  !!

Omni ROM developers have merged Android 4.4.3 related changes and now they have started providing Android 4.4.3 KitKat in their nightly builds. It came as a sweet surprise from the developers. Three cheers to them. I have immediately downloaded and installed the update.

As the developer says, OmniROM is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (Kitkat), which is designed to increase performance, reliability and features over stock Android for your device.

    1. 1) I don't use facebook app on my phone. It really takes a lot of ram. In case required, I access facebook through web browser.

      2) I did not find any lag while playing games. It was ok.

      3) Battery charge is same. I have not seen any changes as such.

      4) I have not faced any system freezes yet. Performance is good. No random reboots.

      5) Dial pad loads quick.

Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy Note GT-N7000 - Touchwiz UI look and feel for AOSP / CyanogenMod based Stock / Custom ROMS

I am running AOSP/CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 based custom rom on my Galaxy Note GT-N7000. Note is rooted with ClockWorkMod Recovery installed. I wanted to have look and feel of TouchWiz UI on the rom. I started searching on internet for the same. Even though I am not fond of TouchWiz framework (due to heavy resource consumption), I do like the graphics provided by TouchWiz. I tried to find out ways to give such look and feel to my Note. After googling, I found out the following steps :- 1) Install CM10.1 TouchWiz 5.0 Theme I found out this theme on Play Store. The CM10.1 TouchWiz Free Theme can be downloaded using the below link, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thomassafca.theme.touchwiz.five.free Below is the makeover of the System UI after installing this theme.
