Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Its indeed a very good news for Galaxy Note fans. The first device in the Note series i.e. GT-N7000 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop. Its really a sweet surprise for Note fans like me. This excellent work is done by XDA Developer bauner. Three cheers to him for giving Galaxy Note 1 (GT-N7000) a new life !!!

This Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM is CM12 based and still is in alpha stage. This means you can expect bugs and some functions not yet working. Below is what the developer of the ROM has mentioned,

Features which are currently working
  • adb
  • boot
  • wifi
  • bluetooth
  • telephony(It locks your sim card every reboot! you need to enter your puk key! If you don`t know your puk key do not turn on with inserted sim!)
  • display
  • touchscreen
  • stock apps
  • shutdown
  • sound
  • internal sd (the internal sdcard gets erased on first boot! backup your data before trying alpha3)
  • external sdcard
  • aosp keyboard (to get keyboard working go into settings/language & input/current keyboard and switch the slider by hardware show input method)
  • camera (no video recording)
  • gallery
  • audio player

Features which are currently not working
  • sensors
  • gps
  • mobile data (but wifi is working)
  • hardware home button (but onscreen buttons are enabled and working)
  • root
  • NO Recovery is present. In order to go back to another rom its required to flash kernel/recovery or full rom with odin or heimdall

For complete information about the ROM, visit the below thread from XDA Developer forums:-

Lets hope we will get a taste of fully functional build of Lollipop soon :)

  1. Hello!!!
It will be nice if you update this post with latest developments. The ROM is currently at beta 6 ... completely stable. All required functionalities are working fine. I am currently using it as my daily runner .. feels like a new phone altogether.

    1. Hello,

Me too already on the latest build 6. This is actually an old post which I created at the time when the ROM was in alpha stage. It looks like the theme which I have selected for the blog is not showing date of the post. I will check it out.
