Android 5.1 Lollipop for Galaxy Note GT-N7000 via NightOwl ROM

Yes, you heard it right. Its a very good news for Galaxy Note fans. Android 5.1 Lollipop for Galaxy Note GT-N7000 is now available. Thanks to NightOwl ROM developed by XDA Developer Bauner.

This ROM is CM 12.1 (CyanogenMod 12.1) based. Few days back, BETA 10 version of the NightOwl ROM was out. Now, Bauner has merged CM 12.1 changes. So basically, its mostly the same as the BETA 10 + updated to CM 12.1 .

I am using the build since last 8 hours and I must say that its damn smooth. No lags, no random reboots, no hangs. But please do read below important lines...

Please take a note that its a preview build. There can be bugs. It is working stable but only the main functions like telephony, messaging, wifi, camera, gps, browser, video playback and playstore are tested.

BETA 10 Changelog is as follows,

Optimized ART settings
zRam 400mb on 2 devices
KSM
Low moemory killer values RW to make adjustment Apps working
Wifi init changes to get Wifi direct working (untested)
Battery saver settings back in settings-battery
Changing lock screen shortcuts is working
On demand counting iowait as busy revertet for better battery life

Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy Note GT-N7000 - Touchwiz UI look and feel for AOSP / CyanogenMod based Stock / Custom ROMS

I am running AOSP/CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 based custom rom on my Galaxy Note GT-N7000. Note is rooted with ClockWorkMod Recovery installed. I wanted to have look and feel of TouchWiz UI on the rom. I started searching on internet for the same. Even though I am not fond of TouchWiz framework (due to heavy resource consumption), I do like the graphics provided by TouchWiz.
